Plenty of professional and amateur astronomers watched and photographed the Apollo craft leaving Earth's orbit – and returning. if you're really nice, I can send you links to the websites that have the collected images. Because I figure you're too stupid to find them yourself.

    @drummerforreal1 The Shuttle, the ISS and the Hubble can be spotted with the naked eye at certain times during dusk, when the sun reflects off them. Other satellites and heavenly bodies can easily be spotted using a telescope.

    Go to the website 'Heavens Above' for spotting times in your area, and fuck off, you useless, ignorant twit.

    in reference to the grissom guy, i don't see how simply saying "somebody is going to get killed" makes him an outspoken critic of the space programme, you don't even know what context it was said in. So what if he said that? that doesn't mean he hates nasa and is going to be an enemy to them. it was a dangerous thing to be doing and so of course lives would be in danger.

    @xmassan20906 Except that any observatory, or amateur astronomer could have spotted the craft in orbit. Also, there would have been no TLI burn, which is quite visible even to the naked eye. You can't hide things in orbit – especially when the eyes of the world are looking upwards.
