This game has problems and it cannot be installed in any computer. If midway nows that this game has these problems they should not be selling it untill they fix it. My advice to other people who want to buy this game is, dont buy it because you will be spending your time and money for a game that does not work or cannot be installed.

First let me say I purchased this game from a "brand names, closeout prices" retail store for four dollars. I had read it's mediocre reviews when it came out and figured it should at least entertain me for a few hours….boy was I suprised!
This game is a lot of fun! The graphics have a few glitches but really do a good job putting you in the "small desert town" setting and the consiricy story was compelling and interesting.
I would say my favorite part of this game was the alien suprises. Each and every level you enter has its own share of unexpected attacks from everything fom geneticaly mutated soldiers to building size worms and spore pods. The xeno-fire tank bug was my personal favorite (although it did feel like the tank bug in Starship Troopers). I kept looking forward to each scene wondering what new beasty would be waiting for me on the other side.
The hummer chases and helicopter levels are seriously intense!
the game definitely has its downsides. The squad is virtually useless except for opening doors. They dont die (only get ko'ed) and i felt like I did 99% of the killing (Which was fine with me!!) There only a handful of weapons (although they are each fun to use) and it does freeze up now and then, but for the price this game is worth every cent.
(I don't play online so I can't really review that)
Go ahead and pick it up, its worth the bargain price amazon asks. You will enjoy it (I think!)

An average FPS, good design but lacks depth. very linear play with not a lot of variety. Enemy AI is poor but functional, allied AI is good. Storyline is poor, as in weapon variety. At best it is a $20 game for its fun value.

I was pretty surprised by this game. It received pretty terrible reviews elsewhere, and when one of my own squad dropped a grenade in our midst within the first few minutes of playing, I nearly exited the game and uninstalled it. I decided to stick with it and ended up rather enjoying it. I finished it in two or three days, as it's maybe 6-8 hours long.
There are many tense moments and exciting scenes. The action changes fairly regularly, from defense to assault, driving to shooting on rails, and between enemies and bosses. Some of the set pieces are pretty exciting, such as being surrounded by enemies, being flooded by enemies while manning a turret, dodging a huge boss while it attacks you through the buildings, and manning a gunship to attack a huge boss that's blocking a bridge.
I do have some complaints. It was a little stale and a little ordinary. The last boss was a letdown, and some boss fights were awkward because of your squad not helping you as they should. I had some in-game scripts break and I had to restore my last checkpoint save in order to get by the glitch. Normally I hate checkpoint saves, but it wasn't annoying at all in this game.
If you do give it a try, I suggest you play on Hard for a reasonable challenge. Easy is rather easy. You can always change your mind later and not lose any progress you've made.
